Lincoln Hall Remodeling

Project Description:

This project consists of the rehabilitation, restoration and remodeling of the Lincoln Hall on the main quadrangle at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Campus including three small courtyard additions. The project includes general curriculum classroom spaces on the first floor, college of liberal arts and sciences departmental offices on the second through fourth floors and mechanical and storage spaces in the basement with complete new windows and new plumbing, heating, ventilation, electrical, fire protection, technology and audio-visual systems.

Historic spaces being renovated include the vestibules, entries, the east Memorial Halls star, Theater Foyer and the Lincoln Theater all designed to follow the U.S. Secr. of Interior Standards for the treatment of historic properties with guidelines for preservation. The rehabilitation of Lincoln Hall has also been designed for and has been registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and is intended to achieve LEED “gold” NC2 2 Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
